January 20, 2009
The Crankin’ Albertans are going to participate in the third annual Cycle for Survival which takes place at Equinox in New York City and in satellite locations around the world. We will be raising funds that will support cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Equinox will host 200 teams, each with up to eight members. The four-hour cycling event will divide into four fifty-minute riding sessions per team. One bike is allotted to each team, with time on each bike divided among teammates according to their plan. The event offers options for satellite teams outside the NYC area.
The Crankin’ Albertans will be Spinning their wheels for Cancer!

I Am Ready To Ride Bike MS NYC

August 17, 2008Ready to Ride the Grape Escape
July 1, 2008In August, the Crankin’ Albertans will be going to Vancouver Island to celebrate BC’s newest wine region and riding another bike tour for MS. The first Grape Escape MS Bike Tour was held in 2002 and the event has grown every year since. The MS Cowichan Valley Grape Escape is a two-day tour that begins in Mill Bay and goes north through the beautiful Cowichan Valley. The ride is about hospitality and exploring the Cowichan Valley. Hopefully, by the time the sun sets over Mill Bay, the Crankin’ Albertans I will be back at Brentwood College in time to enjoy evening festivities including wine tasting, musical entertainment and fine Cowichan Valley cuisine.
The Crankin’ Albertans know that the ride will be a blast and it will be tough. There are lots of hills that will slow some of us down and tire us out! However, we all know the reason we’re riding! We’re riding so that we can move just that much closer to finding a cure for MS. Our fundraising will be a part of this. We’ll be riding for Michele Crosby of Brooklyn, NY and other friends living with MS in our hearts. Our small part will make a difference. Our commitment is to keep ‘er rolling and have fun! We’re the Crankin’ Albertans.
